Three days ago we met an alternative to WattPad but with the fixed idea of allow creators to receive income. It is this its maximum virtue that makes a difference to what WattPad itself offers since, although it puts authors and readers in contact, it does not allow the former to obtain benefits in any way. The truth is that it is not easy for an indie author to continue with his passion.
The industry is still friends with these types of authors, although today it is more difficult to single out those with talent because the market is becoming oversaturated. WattPad has now found a way keep these indie authors writing by offering a way to earn an income. In a new program launched, called Wattpad Futures, it allows to add advertising between the chapters of the authors' stories.
This means that both the authors will be able to receive income and advertisers will have a new place to sell their products or services. We are not looking at anything new, since there are subscription models that play to eliminate advertising with the monthly payment; something we are used to in these days of technology and should not despair when it comes to WattPad.
Of course, this advertising will appear on WatPadd for those authors who want it and will place it at the end of the chapters. Allen Lau, CEO and co-founder of Wattpad refers to this:
WattPad's dynamic community is like another social platform. It is the interconnected community of authors and audiences the ones that make the Wattpad Futures program a viable source of income for writers. Readers have always encouraged their favorite authors with messages, comments, and votes. Now, they can support them on Wattpad in a way that will increase the writer's income, without having to pay anything out of pocket. "
Now it remains that the idea set between readers and authors who use it.
