Every day it is easier to have a good service in the Cloud: Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, Mega, SpotBros, OneDrive, iCLoud, etc ... There are many but they always offer the same characteristics by default, which does not prevent us from using them for other purposes such as to store our Caliber ebooks. This possibility means that we have a library in the Cloud managed by Caliber, our favorite manager. What's more, Uploading our library to the Cloud will allow us to read our ebooks from any tablet, smartphone, eReader or electronic device as well as being able to read it at any time, as long as we are connected to the Internet.
How to upload Caliber to the Cloud
The first thing we have to do is choose a Cloud service that has the possibility of creating a folder on our hard drive that synchronizes with the service, such as Dropbox or Google Drive. Currently Dropbox is the most common and widespread service, Google Drive and iCloud offer the same but are limited on some platforms where Dropbox and Caliber do exist.
Now, to upload Caliber to the Cloud, what we will have to do is open Caliber and press the library button. Once pressed, a menu will appear in which an option called ยซChange / create libraryยซ. A new screen will appear in which three options appear and at the top a menu to insert the path where we will save our library. This path will be the one with the Dropbox folder and of the three options, we mark the option "Move current library to new location", press accept and if we have carried out the steps correctly, both Dropbox and Caliber will begin to synchronize.
After waiting, which will depend on the speed of our connection and the size of our library, we will have our entire library available not only in Caliber but also in Dropbox, which will allow us to read the ebooks from any device that has a dropbox. At first, when we open it, the Dropbox app will inform us that the ebook has an unrecognizable format, then it will tell us the alternatives there are to read that file, alternatives such as the Kindle app, Periodically or FBReader.
This is a way to have our library and our Caliber in the Cloud, but there are other ways and even a more sophisticated way that would happen to have a Caliber server, but this is the subject of another article.
Good trick.
Does anyone know how I have to do to share more than one library at the same time? I am referring to the content server, because with the Caliber Companion all I can do is connect, review the books and download them, but I cannot change the library, I have to do it on the same computer. The only thing I have left is to download the 32-bit version (I already have the 64-bit version installed) and share the other library from there? Is it possible to do that?
Greetings.
Does anyone know when human stupidity will cease and we can install pechem. a dropbox in an ereader and to be able to use our clouds directly from an ereaderโฆ?
I would like to know if the Caliber library can be stored in Google Drive. Some user has reported conflict or similar
