With this simple tutorial we want to show you how to incorporate various fonts into your Kindle Paperwhite quickly and easily.
The steps to follow to incorporate new sources to the catalog of the existing ones of our Kindle Paperwhite are:
- Connect the device to the computer via the USB port
- In the root folder of our Kindle we must create an empty file with the name USE_ALT_FONTS
- Create the folder called SOURCES
- Copy the normal font, bold, italic and bold-italic in the fonts that are newly created / folder
- Disconnect your Kindle Paperwhite from your computer
- Restart device (Menu, configuration and then in the menu we press restart)
Below you will find the steps in english as found in the original tutorial and on which we have relied to create this one in Spanish:
- Connect PW to computer by USB
- On usb-drive create an empty / new file with name: USE_ALT_FONTS
create the folder: fonts - Copy your font in regular, bold, italic, and bold-italic into newly
- Created fonts / folder
- Disconnect PW from USB
- Restart PW (menu-> settings, then menu-> restart)
Once the process is finished and when pressing Aa, not only the sources that we have added will appear but a few more that were hidden.
The sources for the less initiated in these subjects, that surely we are many, can be found on Google or for example if you use the Windows operating system, in the Windows / fonts folder.
Also as we have been able to read and test this tutorial not only works on the Kindle Paperwhite but also works on other models, for example on the Kindle 4.
