Yesterday we presented you the new Tolino eReader, an eReader that was presented at the Frankfurt Fair but it was not the only one. The Tolino Alliance has also presented the Tolino Shine 2 HD, an eReader that took up the name of an old model.
Essentially, the new Tolino Shine 2 HD is the same as the Tolino Vision 3 HD, except for the absence of two features that make the new Tolino Shine 2 HD more affordable. These missing features are water and shock resistance, and the tap2flip function.
Two features that I personally don't miss in an eReader , and yet this seems to have made Tolino devices up to 40 euros more expensive than their basic price, which seems quite high to me considering that there are now tablets priced under 50 dollars, meaning that for this difference, one can get a tablet and an eReader, albeit without water resistance, but two readers nonetheless.
If we ignore the Tolino Vision 3 HD and take into account the Tolino Shine 2 HD and its price, I could say that we are facing a very interesting device, capable of facing the Kobo Glo HD and the Kindle Paperwhite, which although it has a capacity of Storage depleted, the Tolino SHine 2 HD has the possibility to store up to 25 GB of documents and ebooks, access to hotspots or simply does not have advertising on this device.
But the worst part is that the high-end devices are the ones dominating the market , not the budget-friendly alternatives. Fortunately, there are increasingly more affordable devices with high-quality, advanced technology.
