Yesterday we told you how Casa del Libro was launching a new eReader with a 6,8″ screen and high resolution, although it uses older technology. The Tagus Tera is also water-resistant, like the Kobo Aura H2O. But this wasn't the only new device from Tagus and Casa del Libro.
We have also seen how the Tagus Lux 2015 was updated, this time including Carta technology in its screen and offering good quality to this eReader but with a rather poor resolution.
The Tagus Lux 2015 with Carta is possibly the eReader with the worst resolution of all those with E-Ink screens with Carta; the new Tagus Lux has 212 dpi , which is low considering the 300 dpi of the Kobo Glo HD.
The Tagus Lux 2016 is the Tagus Lux 2015 with Menu
Casa del Libro has named it the Tagus Lux 2016, but if you look at the technical specifications, the eReader has only changed its screen technology, nothing else. This means many people won't need to upgrade their eReader, and if you were thinking about doing so, consider it, as it's likely unnecessary. Personally, we were expecting this release, but we didn't think Casa del Libro would call it the Tagus Lux 2016 , and even if they had, we expected the eReader to have more up-to-date hardware or some other new feature.
The price of this eReader is €119 , a relatively low price compared to other devices. Furthermore, if we disregard the resolution, the new Tagus Lux 2015 could be a very interesting and competitive eReader, as it runs Android and allows you to install the Play Store, granting access to other app stores. In short, it's an interesting eReader for those who aren't entirely loyal to their preferred app stores.
The positive aspect of all this is that with a new model available, the rest of the eReaders at La Casa del Libro will have an even lower price and be more accessible , don't you think?
