Yesterday we had some great news about a new entry-level Kindle device which, as my colleague Joaquín says , is the flagship Kindle product for this year. It's a product that can be purchased for a lower price than the Kindle Oasis and is sure to become a must-have for many, thanks to its very interesting features.
Amazon has also announced that the white version of the new Kindle Paperwhite will begin shipping in the United States and the rest of the world on June 30th. This reading device is appealing because of its white color, which evokes different sensations, at least visually, when placed next to its black counterpart.
The price is the same as the black model at €119 and all its technical details are the same with a 300 ppi screen, 4 GB of internal memory, front light, touch screen and even offers support for the accessibility feature called Voiceview that Amazon launched earlier this year.
The main advantage of this white version is its visual style, which might lead many to wonder why they would need it. A white format tends to make E-ink screens appear grayer, while black bezels achieve the opposite effect. However, one of its best features is that the white bezels minimize margins , placing the text right at the edge of the screen.
It's also a matter of taste, and having a Kindle that stands out from the black ones we've always seen can be a factor to consider when buying it, or at least for users who want a device of this type that's different from the others.
