Ebooks are already profitable for JK Rowling

Pottermore

Ebook versions of Harry Potter have been available to many users for some time now . However, it seems that only now are these versions truly becoming profitable for the creator of Harry Potter.

As many of you know, J.K. Rowling entrusted everything to the website and company called Pottermore . This website holds all the rights to Harry Potter's digital content and is where the special content is published. Surprisingly, this website was operating at a loss until recently, but that's all in the past, as it's now profitable.

According to the latest earnings report, Pottermore has generated over £15 million in revenue in recent months , resulting in a profit for the company. This revenue is attributed to the release of new titles in the series, the recent Harry Potter film, and, above all, to special materials related to those titles.

The Pottermore website has generated more than 15 million euros to JK Rowling

New ebooks about Magic in North America and the new "Fantastic Beasts..." saga have also boosted sales , even though users who have downloaded them have been disappointed by the content.

Personally, what surprises me most about this news is the fact that Pottermore hasn't made a profit so far, or that its expenses have always exceeded its income . This is incredible considering that distributing ebooks and selling existing titles are free.

In other words, it seems Pottermore isn't reaching its full potential . This could change in the coming year if Rowling remains interested in monetizing the website or wants to increase her earnings through these channels.
