Pyrus Maxi, a big screen eReader

Pyrus Maxi, a big screen eReader

It seems that the stars and business owners have conspired so that every two days a new eReader with which to make our mouths water. A few hours ago we were talking about a device of Ukrainian origin for this market. Well, today the turn is for a German manufacturer that although its product is not more than a replica of another eReader his, things seem to get interesting. The new eReader is called Pyrus Maxi of the German company trektor.

What does Pyrus Maxi offer me that another eReader does not?

This is the question we all ask ourselves at this point and with so many devices on the market. Well, Pyrus Maxi It is focused on a very specific eReader market that has been forgotten: big screen eReaders. So far there are only two models with a large screen, since recently the two oldest have been withdrawn from the market. The two survivors, Tagus the Great and JetBook Color are very far from normal consumption, since their prices are between the 300 euros and the 500 euros, prices that make more than one reconsider if you want a eReader or a tablet. Pyrus Maxi It presents us with the possibility of obtaining a large screen eReader, about 8 ”for a very interesting price and in no way comes close to the prices of previous eReaders.

Opinion

As you may have read, the specifications of this eReader are nothing out of the ordinary. The screen used is Guangzhou OED Technologies, a company that tries to imitate the technology of E-ink without actually paying patents. Regarding autonomy, the product's website does not specify it well, but I imagine that it will approach the month of autonomy since the only major energy expenditure that Pyrus Maxi can do is use screen. It lacks a touch screen, audio and Wi-Fi. So using Caliber it is required on this eReader.

It seems that treektor It has not been able to combine this product well with its market, being a great pity, because the market for large screen eReaders is being the great forgotten and at the same time the great need since many people are still not convinced by the situation of expanding the font size.

The price of this device will be around the 149 euros and it won't be available until the middle of this month. What do you think of Pyrus Maxi and does it meet your expectations? Give your opinion on this eReader and on the big screens, it costs nothing.
