We previously saw a report from the FCC about a new Barnes & Noble tablet with a 7-inch screen that would be very affordable, priced around $50. Well, now Barnes & Noble has officially announced it on its website, with sales starting this Black Friday for $49,99.
This new tablet will be known as the Nook Tablet 7 and will be manufactured by Barnes & Noble; it won't be a Samsung model or one from another company. However, it won't be manufactured in the United States.
The Nook Tablet 7 will have a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels . The device will feature a 1,3 GHz MediaTek processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the device has two cameras : a 2 MP front-facing camera and a 5 MP rear-facing camera. All of this will be powered by a 3.000 mAh battery, providing the device with over 8 hours of battery life , depending on usage.

The main difference compared to the $50 Fire tablet is that the Nook Tablet 7 has access to the Play Store and will be upgradable to Android Nougat , something the Amazon tablet lacks. In addition to being able to buy and read ebooks from Barnes & Noble and the Play Store, users will be able to read ebooks from other apps they can install, such as those from La Casa del Libro, Kobo, or even Amazon.
As we mentioned, the tablet will go on sale next Black Friday, and it looks interesting , although the screen resolution isn't great . In any case, given its low price, it's worth trying, and that's what many will think. Perhaps with this model, B&N will finally surpass one million units sold again, don't you think?
