What has Amazon improved with the new Kindle Paperwhite?
If we look at the features of each of the two devices, we'll soon realize that the improvements aren't numerous, but they are significant . Starting with the screen, it has been greatly improved, with a resolution of 300 ppi. The company led by Jeff Bezos promises that reading on this new Kindle Paperwhite will be like reading on paper.
In terms of design, everything remains the same, and it won't be difficult to mistake the new Kindle Paperwhite for the old one at first glance, so be very careful if you're going to buy one. Even the weight is exactly the same for both Kindles.
Finally, to the novelties that we already find in the old Kindle Paperwhite, we now add the inclusion of the exclusive Amazon font named Bookerly and that will allow us a simpler and more comfortable reading.
Is the new Kindle Paperwhite worth buying?
Each user, and especially each budget, will have their own answer to this question , and let me explain. There's no doubt that the improved screen alone makes the new Kindle Paperwhite worth buying, but it's possible (and almost certain) that the older Paperwhite will see significant price reductions. If, for example, we find the older model for under €100, I think we shouldn't miss the opportunity, as the improvements aren't substantial enough to justify the higher price. However, as I mentioned before, that will depend on each user and their budget.
The old Kindle Paperwhite was already a device of enormous quality that, at 129,99 euros, had a very good price-performance ratio ; if we find it now on sale, it will be difficult to decide whether to spend a good handful of euros more on the new Paperwhite.
