In the last days Microsoft has released an update that corrected the problem that existed between Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Kobo eReaders, an update that seems to fulfill what was promised and that is ahead of the indicated date of September but it seems that not for all Kobo ereaders.
Despite that the solution fixes the connection problem, the Kobo app still cannot communicate well with the eReader and Adobe DRM, so some users still cannot transfer ebooks correctly.
But the most striking thing is that Kobo Aura One, the future Kobo eReader still not compatible with Windows 10. Microsoft's update, the latest of all, fixes many problems, but the Kobo eReader is still not very compatible.
Despite Microsoft's fix, the Kobo Aura One still doesn't work properly with Windows 10
Caliber is also still without much luck and in this situation it will help us little unless we use cloud connections and through the browser's web browser we can download the titles that we have purchased.
The problem with Caliber may be due to the ebook manager itself and not the Windows Anniversary Update. The manager does not yet recognize the Kobo Aura One, at least for the moment and this will influence but only for the moment as we do not doubt that Caliber will support the Kobo Aura One.
I personally believe that Microsoft has acted quickly but once again proves that its software is not as good as it claims. Fortunately, there are alternatives to Windows 10, Caliber and even Adobe DRM, alternatives that have made this problem not a serious problem for eReader users. And hopefully this serves as an example so that it does not happen again with Kobo or other eReaders.
