Kobo has officially announced its Kobo Touch 2.0 eReader, revealing its features and price. The Kobo Touch will finally feature a Pearl HD display.
The Kobo Touch will arrive in markets in Canada and the United States on September 9th . It will be available in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Mexico at the end of September, and in France, Germany, and Spain in October.
The Kobo Touch 2.0 has a weight of 185 grams. and dimensions of 115 x 157 x 9,2 mm. This eReader has a 6 Ghz Freescale i.MX1 processor. and the ram memory, although it is not specified, will be approximately 256 mb.

The screen will be 6 inches with a resolution of 800 x 600 and 167 ppi. It will not be backlit but will be a touchscreen with up to two-point multitouch. The eReader's storage capacity is 4 GB, with no option for expansion as it lacks a microSD card slot.
The Kobo Touch 2.0 will compete with Amazon's basic Kindle
The software for this eReader will be the same as on other Kobo eReaders, meaning we can read Pocket articles , comics, and even view JPG images. Not long ago, the Kobo Touch received one of the last updates, so we expect this eReader to have a long period of software support.
The Kobo Touch will cost 89 euros and dollars, a high price compared to its competitor, the basic Kindle. However, several stores are offering discounts on this device. We've seen a slightly lower price at Indigo.
It seems that with this new eReader, Kobo is completing its lineup to compete with Amazon's Kindle . However, that's not all, and there will surely be surprises after this new eReader is released—at least, that's what I think.
