Recently, Harry Potter author JK Rowling confirmed that she has reached an agreement with the production company to release five films based on the title " Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ," a new saga, a prequel to Harry Potter, whose first film will be released next month on the big screen.
Up until now this saga was going to have three films, but Rowling as well as the production company have decided it's better to produce five films based on the book , a book that will later appear in the Harry Potter saga.
The most important news is that JK Rowling will be among its screenwriters , and she has already confirmed that she is working on the script for the second film, so it seems that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will not be the only book or ebook we see in bookstores.
JK Rowling has confirmed that she participates in the script of the new Fantastic Animals films and where to find them
However, at the moment we don't know if the prequel will consist of three books or ebooks, or five books . This information will likely be released piecemeal to ensure sales of the new titles. Although, it could also all depend on the success or failure of the new film, and based on that, the new material might be released or remain just three unremarkable films.
In any case, it seems that the Harry Potter titles owe more to selling books and ebooks than to truly continuing Harry Potter's story —the story of that boy who lived in his aunt and uncle's cupboard and who enchanted a whole world of Muggles and non-Muggles alike . And perhaps that's why the success of the last book wasn't as great as expected , don't you think?
