Duokan is an alternative operating system to the operating system that Amazon includes in all its Kindle devices, and it emerged thanks to a group of Chinese developers in order to achieve better compatibility of Chinese characters with Amazon's famous eBook reader.
Today, it has become a very powerful operating system that improves upon Amazon's official operating system in many ways. For all these reasons, many users have already decided to install it on their devices.
It's vitally important to know that Duokan doesn't replace or eliminate Amazon's official operating system in any way , nor does it require jailbreaking, a process that inspires so much respect in many users of these types of devices. Once Duokan is installed, you can choose which operating system you want to boot your Kindle into, just like any other.
It is fully compatible with different Kindle models , with the added advantage that Calibre can still be used to manage the device.
