A few days ago we saw how Apple would be working with E-Ink to create accessories with electronic ink. Specifically, we speak of a keyboard that instead of keys uses an electronic ink panel. But it seems that Apple will not be the only company to have it.
We recently learned about a new device from Microsoft Research that not only works with e-ink but also gives e-ink a new function. This device is a desktop accessory that displays notifications via NFC and Bluetooth , which is interesting for those who work with mobile phones and other devices.
We could meet the new Microsoft accessory tomorrow
The new gadget Microsoft Research is working on has an e-ink screen with low resolution. This Microsoft device will also have wireless connectivity and solar charging , meaning we won't spend much on electricity or need another charger on our desk.
This device will display notifications and various items such as calls, notes, reminders, etc. Thus, this Microsoft gadget will attempt to be the perfect replacement for the Post-it note . Unfortunately, we don't know if this product will ultimately reach the market, as Microsoft Research is a research unit and not a product launch department. We could even venture to say that we might see this device tomorrow at the official Microsoft event, although nothing has been confirmed.
Personally, I believe this ePaper will be released, as Microsoft doesn't usually skimp on products related to the company . However, I don't know if users will actually use this device regularly, or if it will simply have a higher resolution, which would be very interesting for displaying not only text but also images, graphics, or more in-depth text , don't you think?
