13-inch Onyx Boox Max for a possible April release

Onyx boox

Several news items about the Onyx Boox Max have appeared in recent months, making it an e-reader that has raised quite a few expectations , especially since Onyx released the first images of the prototype.

It now seems that everything is ready for this new e-reader to hit the market. According to an email sent to a customer today, Onyx is set to launch the 13,13-inch Onyx Boox in March.

The device is already listed on Alibaba with around 2.000 pre-orders for when it becomes commercially available. This e-reader boasts a 13,3-inch screen, giving you a large display for reading your favorite books.

According to the specifications list, the Onyx Boox Max will run Android 4.0 , have a 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage with the ability to expand the memory via a microSD card. This device is essentially an Android tablet with two speakers, a microphone, a headphone jack, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

The Pearl E-ink screen will be flexible and its screen resolution will be either 1600 x 1200 or 2200 x 1650. Nothing is known about the front light, although it is said that the touch screen will have a stylus.

An interesting device that arrives with the clear objective of reading but, being Android, will allow you to expand its possibilities to read RSS or use other news apps to stay on top of everything that happens daily through an e-ink screen.

We don't yet know its price , something vital to better understand this device and where it will fit into the somewhat saturated market of tablets and e-readers, where it's quite difficult to stand out.
